These projects all go along with a theme of introspection, observing, and some voyeurism. My first piece, "Motion Sense in Calder Hallway" was made using motion sense technology and taking advantage of the small camera in an iPad to take photos out of the peep hole in an apartment door. It first spawned the grid of images titled "Introspective Ramblings" where I accompany the images with text of my general thoughts during the process of taking these images. The text shows my reluctance, my anxiety about the issue, and how I was thinking during the process. My anxiety results in a lot of my introspection and both have been a recent interest and study in my personality.

The piece "Bottled" comes from both the previous pieces as I continued to think about my personality and the medication I've recently been taking to handle my anxiety. The nude self-portraits are a reflection of how I felt when I was previously depressed. I felt bottled and anxious like I was curled up in a small bottle hidden and safe from the world. This hoever, is a contradiction to how I am now where the bottles and medication have actually freed me of my previously isolation experience as I struggled with depression and anxiety.

My last piece, "iPad Screams" is experimentation again with observing myself. I chose to house the iPad in the book to give it a more "traditional" feel but the video and sound element change your expectations as the book is opened, like perhaps it's an image printed in a book, and not a digital experience. This video effect was achieved by holding a video Skype call with myself between the iPad and a desktop iMac. The interference created with the sounds echoing and ringing between the two devices, I feel is an interpretation of the mindset one is in when experiencing anxiety. When I listened to the feedback audio, it seemed to tap into that part of my mind and I has a physical manifestation of discomfort very similar to what I felt before I was taking medication.
